Excellent company to deal with June 27, 2009 We bought one of these about 5 years ago. Two weeks ago it stopped working, and a new lithium battery didn't fix it. I followed the instructions for returning their lifetime warranty products, and a week later a brand-new scale appeared via UPS. That kind of service is becoming increasingly rare. It's nice to deal with a company that stands by its promises.
Good scale, especially for the price. March 11, 2009 This is a very well-priced, generally accurate scale that I have been using for the past two years. It is easy to use. I recently purchased a scale that has a higher Amazon rating, is more famous and more than twice the price of the Taylor 7009 Electronic Lithium (but shall remain unnamed) and tested the difference between the two's readings multiple times. They were almost always exactly the same.
The Taylor 7009 is a good choice for an accurate reading at a lesser price.
If you want to weight 3-5lb more get this scale. February 20, 2009 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ive owned the Taylor 7000 for years but was looking to replace it. I found the new and improved 7009. I weighed myself on it and I was 3.5lb heavier than the older scale. So I did a weight comparison test. I weighed a gallon of milk on both scales. It came out to 9lb each scale. So I weighed myself again and got the 3.5lb difference again. So the milk weighs the same on both scales but I dont? I've been weighed at my doctors office 1 day ago with clothes and shoes on at 128lb but when I get on the scale au natural it says I weight 131.5 So... I decided to weigh my shoes.. they weigh 3 lb. My jeans 1 lb. so 4 lb minus 128 is 124. I somehow gained 7.5 lb in a few hours. I get on my old 7000 and it says I weight 128 just like the doc's office.
Honestly.. I dont think there is any scale on the market today that can accurately tell you how much you truly weigh. You are better off going to a carnival and having that guy guess your weight.... he would be more accurate than this scale.
Innaccurate and deceptive! January 26, 2009 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This scale is junk! For a while I thought my weight was fluctuating wildly everyday, then I started checking it with the old scale. It's way off! Then, most infuriating was when it said I weighed precisely the same with my clothes on as I did with them off -- to the tenth of a pound!!! I was looking at purchasing the "Taylor 5599 440 Pound Tempered Glass Body Fat-Body Water Scale," which has excellent reviews, but I'm very hesitant to buy another thing from this company.
Accurate, but tough to balance on for a reading. January 1, 2009 I've had this scale for a couple of years now and I'm finally fed up enough with it to spend the money for a new one. The scale accurately measures my weight, but it has one annoying flaw. It won't give you a reading unless you balance yourself on the scale very well. By that, I mean if you shift your weight from one foot to the other or move your arms around at all, it will give you an error. I have a moderate case of scoliosis and it makes it tough to keep my body weight centered long enough to get a reading. Annoying!
